RYA First Aid
Service Description
The RYA First Aid course is a one-day course designed for people who go boating or are involved in maritime / water activities covering standard first aid topics with a focus on boating-specific emergencies like hypothermia, cold water shock, drowning, and seeking medical assistance at sea. It is required for certain RYA instructor qualifications and recommended for professional skippers. The course includes CPR, the recovery position (modified for confined spaces), bleeding, hypothermia breathing difficulties choking chest pain seasickness diabetic emergencies anaphylaxis hyperthermia fractures seizures burns, including scalds, chemical and electrical minor injuries including small cuts, grazes, bruises and small splinters it also covers seeking medical assistance via VHF , Helicopter rescues and Medications relating to CAT C medical kits.
